High School Senior Photography in Hales Corners WI
I usually photograph only one or two high school seniors each year.
However, every time I photograph one, I remember just how much I enjoy senior photography.
High school seniors are so much fun to work with. They bring their own style, personality, and ideas to the session. That gives me plenty of opportunities to create a gallery that feels personal to them.
This senior made my job especially easy.
She was absolutely gorgeous, the weather was perfect, and we had an incredible setting at Boerner Botanical Gardens in Hales Corners, Wisconsin.
Senior Photos at Boerner Botanical Gardens
It had been a few years since I last photographed at Boerner Botanical Gardens, so I was excited to return.
The gardens gave us so much to explore.
The property is large, which meant we could walk around and find a variety of backdrops throughout the session. Instead of photographing in one spot for the entire session, we moved through different areas and created a gallery with lots of variety.
The gardens were beautiful, and the natural surroundings gave us plenty of texture, color, and depth.
It was the perfect setting for senior portraits.
Three Outfits for a Variety of Senior Photos
One of my favorite parts of this senior session was the outfit changes.
She brought three different looks, which allowed us to mix up the style throughout her gallery.
Outfit changes are a great way to add variety to senior photography. You can choose one casual look, one more polished outfit, and another that shows off your personal style.
Changing outfits also works well when you are photographing in a large location because each look can have its own feel.
Making Senior Photography Fun and Relaxed
Senior sessions should feel like a celebration.
This is such a big transition in life. High school is wrapping up, and a new chapter is about to begin.
That does not mean the session needs to feel overly formal.
We had fun walking around Boerner Botanical Gardens, exploring different areas, and finding beautiful spots for photographs.
I like giving seniors room to be themselves while also providing enough direction that they never have to wonder what to do with their hands or where to stand.
The goal is to create photographs that feel polished while still looking like the person in front of my camera.
