First Roots Farm Photography in Oconomowoc WI
I absolutely love being part of events at First Roots Farm in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin.
There is something special about combining photography with an experience that people can enjoy together. This year, we teamed up for two flower crown making events at the farm, and they were such a fun way to spend time surrounded by fresh flowers.
Participants got to create their own flower crowns using fresh flowers from the farm. Then, they headed into the flower fields for a few professional photos with me.
The result was a beautiful combination of creativity, flowers, and photography.
Flower Crown Making Event in Oconomowoc
The flower crown portion of the event gave everyone a chance to create something completely their own.
Working with fresh flowers from First Roots Farm made the experience even more special. Each crown had its own combination of colors and flowers, which meant every participant brought something unique into the photo session.
Once the crowns were finished, it was time to head into the flower fields.
That transition from making the crown to wearing it in the field created a natural story for the photographs.
Micro Photoshoots in the Flower Fields
The micro photoshoots gave participants a chance to capture a few professional portraits without committing to a full photography session.
The flower crowns added such a beautiful touch to the photos.
Instead of simply photographing someone standing in a field, we had a meaningful handmade accessory that connected the photos directly to the experience they had just enjoyed.
The flower fields also provided a gorgeous natural setting. The flowers created color and texture throughout the background while keeping the focus on each person.
Why I Love Photography Events
Events like this are one of my favorite ways to photograph new people and outreach to the community.
They give clients something to look forward to beyond simply having their picture taken. They get to make something, explore the farm, enjoy the flowers, and then leave with photographs that remind them of the experience.
I also love working with local businesses and farms because it gives photographers and clients the chance to discover places they may not visit otherwise.
First Roots Farm is a beautiful example of how a local experience can become part of someone's photography story.
