A Cozy and Bright Natural Light Studio in Watertown, WI

This session took place in my natural light studio in Watertown, WI, which is designed to feel clean, calm, and perfectly lit for soft, airy milestone portraits. The light was gorgeous during our session, filling the space with that dreamy glow I love for babies. It keeps everything simple, timeless, and focused on the little one’s features and expressions.

As soon as baby girl came in, she was all smiles. She has the sweetest, easygoing personality, and photographing her felt so natural from the very first shot.

Capturing All the Sweet Milestone Poses

At six months, babies have so many adorable new abilities, so we made sure to highlight all of them. We got beautiful shots of her sitting up, doing tummy time, and grabbing her tiny toes with the biggest grin. These little milestones change so quickly, so it’s always special to freeze them in a way parents can remember forever.

We also created a mix of looks to keep the gallery full and fun. She looked so adorable in a cozy lifestyle setup on the studio bed. Then we tucked her into a sweet Moses bassinet for some soft, delicate moments. After that, we switched between a floral backdrop and a simple white backdrop to balance variety with that classic studio feel.

Watching Her Grow Has Been the Best Part

One of my favorite parts of this session was seeing just how much she has grown since her newborn photos. She’s the fourth baby I’ve photographed for this family, and after three boys, it has been so fun for her mom — and honestly, so fun for me too — to do all the girly setups for baby M. She looks so much like her older brothers, but with her own soft, sweet little features that make her completely unique.

Being able to watch families grow over the years is such a special honor. Sessions like this feel like catching up with old friends and celebrating each new chapter with them.
