Menomonee Falls WI Extended Family Photos
There are some families I get to photograph once.
Then, there are families who become part of my photography journey year after year.
This Menomonee Falls extended family is one of those families.
I see them almost every summer, and I always have so much fun with them. Some of their family members live out of state, which makes their annual photography session even more meaningful.
They chose to make professional family photos part of their summer tradition whenever everyone gets together.
Annual Family Photography at Menomonee Park
We met at Menomonee Park in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin, for another summer session.
Every year, I get to see how much the kids have grown. Sometimes the changes feel small. Then, I look back at previous years and realize just how quickly the time has passed.
That is one of my favorite things about being a family photographer.
I do not just photograph one moment. I get to document a family's story over time.
During this session, we captured a variety of combinations. We photographed the entire extended family together. Then, we broke into smaller groups for sibling photos and photos of the grandchildren with Grandma.
Those smaller combinations give the family a gallery filled with different relationships rather than just one large group portrait.
Timeless Black and Cream Family Outfits
This family chose a simple and timeless color palette for their session.
They wore black and light cream, which looked beautiful against the greenery at Menomonee Park.
The neutral colors kept the photographs classic. They also allowed the family to stand out against the natural green background without competing with it.
For large family sessions, simple color palettes can make coordinating outfits much easier. Everyone can choose pieces they feel comfortable wearing while still creating a cohesive final gallery.
Adding Senior Photos to a Family Session
We also took advantage of having everyone together to capture a few senior photos for one of the girls.
I love when a family session can serve multiple purposes.
Instead of scheduling another completely separate session, we took a few extra minutes at the end to celebrate this senior milestone.
That is especially helpful for families who already have everyone together for their annual extended family photos.
