Cake smash sessions are a favorite way to celebrate your baby’s first birthday! These milestone photos are full of giggles, frosting-covered fingers, and big smiles.
Before every cake smash, I ask parents for input on the setup. Some families go simple and classic with balloons, florals and soft pastels, while others love a fun theme — either way I customize the set to your requests. This gorgeous baby girls momma asked for boho neutrals and textures. Creating these sets are one of my favorite parts about being a baby photographer.
I always capture a few portraits before the cake fun begins, then document every adorable moment of discovery — from the first curious poke to the messy, happy chaos that follows, or sometimes the tears, every baby is so different and that is part of the fun. Afterward, a quick splash bath cleanup can be included for even more cuteness!
